so get the "Shorter Oxford English Dictionary" app

Everybody is angry at this dictionary because it isnt the OED, but rather an ordinary dictionary like the Merriam Webster, etc. It would have been smarter for them to have called it something like, uh, the Oxford Contemporary Dictionary.

But ... if you want an OED, get the so-called "Shorter Oxford English Dictionary" app, same price. It is a rather big subset of the original OED, despite the word "shorter," and seems to work all right.
